Our foundational declaration for a unified humanity
Conscious of our collective responsibility towards present and future generations,
Reaffirming our faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small,
Determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of indifference, injustice and suffering which has twice in our lifetime brought untold sorrow to mankind,
Proclaiming that compassion, solidarity and mutual respect are the essential pillars of peaceful human coexistence,
We, the peoples of the United Nations in our diversity, assembled within the World Humanity Commission, are determined:
"To build the humanity humankind deserve, to restore a complete feeling of self-worth for every individual, without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion."
To these ends, we commit ourselves to:
1. Promote peace, security and international cooperation through dialogue and mutual understanding
2. Protect fundamental human rights and freedoms for all, without any discrimination
3. Encourage social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom
4. Establish conditions favorable to the maintenance of justice and respect for obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law
5. Foster tolerance, mutual respect and understanding among all nations and peoples
We envision a world where every human being can live in dignity, security and prosperity. A world where compassion guides our collective actions and where every person recognizes their intrinsic worth and that of others.
For a united humanity,
The World Humanity Commission
